Ready access to all of the qualified life information is provided as part of the applicable Namco Qualification Test Report (QTR). These requirements are reflected in the Section entitled Qualified Life.

Once you have the qualified life section of the report in your hands, you would follow the following steps:

  • Determine the environmental temperatures that your switch will see in its installed location, including any radiated /conducted temperatures that the switch might see by being mounted firmly against something like the valve actuator of a MSIV.
  • There are two ways to take this temperature and determine the qualified life. If you’re the local math wizard, you can use the Arrhenius calculations as provided in the QTR or if you like the simpler solution, you can use the Arrhenius curve that is also in the QTR. If you decide to use the curve, you have your qualified life at this point. If you decided to use the calculations, you’ll get there…

If you need additional copies of the applicable Qualified Life section, please identify the specific Namco part number and revision under discussion and contact us at: customer.service@dancon.com.

Ready access to all of the maintenance requirements is provided as part of the applicable Namco Qualification Test Report (QTR). These requirements are reflected in the document entitled Maintenance / Surveillance Instructions.

Each Maintenance and Surveillance document contains information relating to recommended maintenance, periodic surveillance, replacement intervals, trouble analysis, installation, revision level / qualification status, maintenance kits, suggested tools and everything necessary for your maintenance program.

The document leads you through:

  • troubleshooting,
  • required maintenance / surveillance / change out based on qualification status and installed conditions
  • available kits
  • needed tools
  • recommended torque values
